This 1930s North London home had a dated, dark interior that no longer suited modern family life, with a small separate kitchen and an unused conservatory.
Working alongside the architect and builder, I helped transform the ground floor with a new full-width extension, creating a light, open-plan kitchen and dining space with a strong connection to the garden.
The design combines extensive glazing, full-height sliding doors and carefully considered storage with warm timber flooring and natural materials, while a considered palette of blue adds colour and continuity throughout the space.
The result is a contemporary family home that feels light, spacious and connected, while retaining the character of the original house.
